The Altec Lansing iM207 Orbit is a portable speaker designed for sharing music with friends.It is a sister speaker of the already reviewed Altec Lansing iM237 Orbit. The speakers seem to be very similar internally, with different exterior designs.

Like the 237, this Altec Lansing speaker relies on 3 AAA batteries, which are able to power the speaker for over 24 hours. It features a round design, which can project sound 360 degrees, perfect for listening with a group. This speaker can also be layed on edge for more directional sound.

The iM207 connects to your MP3 player or phone via the included 3.5mm headphone jack cord. Altec Lansing designed the speaker so you can wrap the cord around and attach it, so there are no dangling pieces to worry about.

This Altec Lansing Orbit speaker is less expensive than its relative, running ~$20 at Amazon. It is not a high end system – but the pricing is definitely competitive.
